It is not easy to evaluate one of the three elements of academic ability, "the attitude of learning independently and collaboratively with diverse people," in an entrance examination. However, it is also one of the things that high schools and universities should discuss constructively while being promoted by policy. In this lecture, we will introduce perspectives and evaluation approaches to capture the evaluation of independence, etc., and consider what universities and high schools should work on from the perspective of "educational connection". | |

【Part 2】15:30~17:30 Breakout Session "Connecting Learning" II
In last year's subcommittee, we set up a forum for high schools and universities to engage in dialogue on the development of the qualities and abilities of each young person in order to realize "learning connections." This year, in order to further realize "connection to learning," we would like to use this as an opportunity for both sides to think about entrance examination reform.
In addition, in January 2021, the Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education, the Kyoto City Board of Education, the Kyoto Prefectural Federation of Private Junior and Senior High Schools, and the University Consortium Kyoto examined the implementation of the Common Test for University Admissions, the use of private English tests, which are the key points of entrance examination reform, the descriptive questions in Japanese and mathematics in the Common Test for University Admissions, as well as the evaluation and comprehensive evaluation of independence, etc. Subcommittees on "Geography and Civics" and "English" were established. We would like to use this forum for discussion on specific cases to promote the connection between high school education in each subject, university entrance examinations, and university education.

Prior to the implementation of the new Course of Study from the Reiwa 4th academic year, a new common test for university admissions will begin from the selection of university admissions in the Reiwa 3rd year (conducted in the Reiwa 2nd academic year). Focusing on what kind of skills Japanese language education aims to cultivate in the future, we will discuss with the two speakers invited from high school universities what can be seen through the reform of high school-university connections. | |

Qualities and abilities to be nurtured through proactive, interactive, and deep learning ~What is the ability to lead to learning at university~

We will give practical reports on class improvement that aim to improve the qualities and abilities of students to live and work through proactive, interactive, and deep learning by exercising their social perspectives and ways of thinking. In addition, we will ask university professors for their opinions on the qualities and abilities that they want to acquire through their subjects and that will serve as the basis for learning at university. Based on the above, we would like to discuss the improvement of classes to improve the qualities and abilities that support lifelong learning, and the university entrance examination (common test for university admissions, etc.) to measure it. | |

The English proficiency required to be developed in the new Course of Study is not limited to superficial understanding of English, but is also a higher-order ability to think, judge, and express appropriate language materials according to the purpose, situation, and situation in dialogue with diverse people. This subcommittee has been established since 2017 and will continue to hold training sessions aimed at developing highly specialized human resources in the field of high school-university connections, including university faculty and staff in charge of entrance examinations who wish to acquire specialized knowledge in entrance examinations. This time, we will focus on "Status of Recommendation and AO Entrance Examinations" and "Risk Management of Entrance Examinations". 2019 High School and University Collaboration Future Session Public Review Meeting

The "High School-University Collaboration Future Session" is a career education project that transcends generations such as high school students, university students, working adults, and schools to interact. In this subcommittee, high school and university students who participated in the meetings held in Kyoto City on September 22 and northern Kyoto Prefecture on September 29 will gather and hold public retrospective meetings to reflect on the learnings and realizations they have gained at their respective venues. The aim of this meeting is for participants to experience the process of thinking and acting by listening to the voices of high school and university students, and to provide opportunities for dialogue through question-and-answer sessions. |

The 17th High School-University Collaborative Education Forum Report Collection 【Click here for details】
With the Common Test for University Admissions finally being held in January 2021, this year's event was held under the theme of "Entrance Examination Reform as a 'Connection of Education' ~How to Evaluate the Development of Qualities and Abilities Up to High School at Universities~" as an opportunity to think together about "university entrance selection reform" with an awareness of the "connection of education" from high school to university. 223 people from all over Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, participated.
In the keynote speech (1) of Part 1, Mr. Shun Shirai, Assistant Director-General for Examinations and Research at the National Center for University Entrance Examinations, gave a lecture titled "Rethinking the Reform of High School-University Connection ~From the Perspective of Competency~", and in the following keynote speech (2), Professor Dai Nishigori of the Director and Professor of the Saga University Admission Center gave a lecture on "How to Face the Evaluation of Independence, etc. ~Conscious of the Educational Connection from High School to University~" He gave a lecture titled.




In the afternoon panel discussion, under the theme of "How to evaluate the development of qualities and abilities up to high school at universities," Vice Principal Yasunori Moriguchi of Kyoto Municipal Tonan High School and Professor Toshihiro Onishi of Ryukoku University gave two keynote speeches in the morning and shared their opinions from the standpoint of high schools and universities. After that, Mr. Shirai and Dr. Nishigun also participated, and Dr. Terumi Samejima, a lecturer in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kyoto Koka Women's University, served as the coordinator for discussions based on the comments on keynote speeches (1) and keynote speeches (2) solicited from participants.


In the second subcommittee, in addition to the five subjects of "Japanese language," "geography and civics," "mathematics," "science," and "English," as in the previous year, seven subcommittees of "Admission Professional Human Resource Development" and "High School-University Collaboration Career Education" shared examples of initiatives and actively exchanged opinions for each theme.


Many people participated in the information exchange meeting after the breakout session, and it was a place to exchange information with the speakers and related parties.
