Overview of the business
The purpose of this program is to provide opportunities for students who are conducting research to identify and solve the problems faced by cities to make presentations, as well as to provide opportunities for research exchange including faculty members, to present their results and deepen their own research. Excellent presentations receive research encouragement awards (Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award, Kyoto Mayor's Award, University Consortium Kyoto President's Award, Japan Society for Public Policy Award, etc.).

The 13th Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto
This year, the 13th edition of the conference since fiscal 2005, is "Urban Policy in General" and a wide range of research presentations on policies to solve urban issues from various perspectives such as the environment, economy, culture, community, and welfare are invited. Why don't you deepen exchanges among students not only at universities and graduate schools with policy faculties, but also beyond the boundaries of universities and seminars, and propose policy proposals and disseminate information about the results of daily research and learning to local communities?

The 13th Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto Application Guidelines
December 3 (Sun)
This year, the 13th edition of the festival, a total of 72 groups (56 oral presentations and 16 panel presentations) that passed the presentation selection process received applications on a wide range of themes not only from policy faculties but also from other faculties and universities, and presented their research in various fields related to urban policy in 10 subcommittees and panel presentation venues.
In addition, student projects planned and operated by the Student Executive Committee using the judging time will be held with the "Challenge for the future!!" Mr. Takashi Yamada (Chief of City Promotion Section, Regional Revitalization Promotion Division, Planning and Policy Department, Shiojiri City Hall) and Mr. Kentaro Suda (President & CEO of Free Plus Co., Ltd.) were invited as guests to give lectures and hold discussions. It was a place for participants to think together with guests about the challenges they can do and gain new insights.
At the award ceremony that followed, the Research Encouragement Award was presented to outstanding presentations, and the venue was filled with cheers and excitement every time the award winners were announced. In addition to their impressions, the award winners commented on the difficulties they faced in writing and presenting papers and the points they had devised in their findings, suggesting that the contest was a place for great learning and rewarding in the presenters' thoughts toward the competition.

We are working on the 2017 Consortium of Universities Kyoto designated survey project, and we are conducting surveys and research on what kind of awareness, growth, and learning participants have gained in "academic exchange" places for students beyond the boundaries of universities and faculties, centered on the "Policy Research Exchange Conference Disseminated from Kyoto" at the University Consortium Kyoto, and the future state of the university.
As part of these efforts, we are conducting the following questionnaire survey for faculty members and students of the Consortium of Universities Kyoto to understand the level of awareness and participation in the Policy Research Exchange Conference from Kyoto, whether there are opportunities for academic exchange other than the Policy Research Exchange Conference, and expectations for the University Consortium Kyoto.
