About the 19th Kyoto Student Festival

The Kyoto Student Festival has been held every October since 2003 in the Heian Jingu and Okazaki Promenade areas, and is a major event that attracts more than 100,000 visitors. It is a student-produced festival that can be done by university students studying in Kyoto, a student town where students account for 10% of the population.

On November 25, 2020, the 19th Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee was newly established, and the theme of the 19th Kyoto Student Festival was also decided. I would like to pursue the form of festivals that can only be made possible because Kyoto is a city of students, and enliven Kyoto.

The 19th Kyoto Student Festival Theme

About the theme

Kyoto is a region that has preserved its ancient traditions. However, we are standing at the turn of the times, affected by the spread of the new coronavirus infection and being asked to adopt a new lifestyle. Through this festival, we would like to connect the culture that has been passed down so far with the culture that is born from the new daily life. And by having people experience culture, we want to protect and connect all Kyoto culture to the future.

keyword

"Regional Co-creation"

Together with various student organizations and local people with whom we have a relationship, we would like to enliven Kyoto through experiences that allow us to experience all kinds of Kyoto culture.

In order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections, we plan to hold it in a hybrid format that combines online and offline. Taking advantage of the advantages of online and offline, we aim to create a new festival that can be participated in anywhere in the country and gain excitement.
